Summer is finally here, and with it comes the possibility of an amazing camping adventure! If you’re looking for the perfect place to camp in your new RV, we’ve got 3 amazing places in the Eastern United States to visit.
1. Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground
Address: 9730 US-23, Mackinaw City, MI 49701 / Phone: (231) 436-5584
Everywhere you look, you can’t miss beautiful Lake Huron in all its glory. The freshwater lake surrounds one mile of the campground, giving you a fantastic view, and a soothing yet soft background-sound of waves all through the afternoon and evening. Not only does the campground have long, gorgeous beaches, it also has a nice pool, as well, for those of us who don’t like to swim in the lake. And for those just dying to find the perfect spot for your hammock, conveniently spaced trees dot abundant grassy areas, just a few feet from the water, with a view of the Mackinaw Bridge on a clear day! You’ll never want to hammock away from those beautiful waves again.
Not only is this campground well run and beautiful, it has a perfect view of the famous Mackinaw Island, where horse buggies, the best fudge you’ve ever had, and small cottage inns create an elegant and fun world of their own. This fun little island can be just a day trip, and definitely entertaining for the whole family. Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground is conveniently about six miles down the road from where a few of the ferries are stationed to sail people across, a small trip to a different world.
2. Williamsburg RV & Camping Resort
Address: 4301 Rochambeau Dr, Williamsburg, VA 23188 / Phone: (757) 566-3021
This campground is both beautifully designed, and favorably located. You’ll never get bored staying there, with their many amenities. Along with a swimming pool to cool you off during the day, they provide shuffle board, a pickle ball court, a picnic and barbecue area, and so much more! The fun will literally never end.
The location is absolutely perfect for anyone who loves history. Williamsburg RV and Camping Resort is only a few miles from what is famously called the “Virginia’s Historic Triangle,” which includes three historical destinations- Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center. These living history museums are amazing for anyone who enjoys not only learning about history, but seeing it as if it was the present. To the old bakeries and restaurants, to the costumes and reenactments set at certain times of the day, everything of the past comes to life to bring your family an amazing adventure. Williamsburg RV and Camping Resort clearly has so much to offer with its many amenities and convenient location!
