Visit Myrtle Beach: It’s Not Just For Beach Bums!

I love the beach. There’s something soothing about being able to stare out into the water and imagine that you’re at the end of the world. While we know that’s not necessarily true, it’s still fun to think about. Living on the East Coast there are plenty of beach towns to spend our long weekends or vacations at, but one always comes to mind when people ask me about family friendly spots: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. You really can’t go wrong with Myrtle Beach. There’s an award winning RV park, boardwalks, water sports, amusement parks, and more to keep everyone in your family happy.

Beaches Galore

If you’re a beach-bum then Myrtle Beach is the place for you! There are over 60 miles of beach in the Myrtle Beach area, so you’ll be guaranteed to find a plot of land to call your own and enjoy the breeze, catch up on your favorite novel, or play some beach volleyball. You’ll fall in love with the area’s crystal blue waters and won’t hesitate to take a dip to cool down. You can even check out a webcam to see just how crowded the beach is at any given time. Take a look for yourself!

Water Sports

For the thrill seeker in your family, they’ll love the options they have to get their adrenaline pumping. Check out a few of the options they have:

  • Surfing
  • Parasailing
  • Jet-Skiing
  • Kayaking
  • Paddleboarding
  • Scuba Diving
  • Banana Boating

Rest assured, you’ll have plenty to do when you make the decision to come to Myrtle Beach.

Boardwalking

After a long day of being out on the ocean or soaking up the sun on the beach, it’s time to grab some food and enjoy some of the shops and restaurants on the boardwalk. You can order up some local seafood at Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar and Grill or Pier 14 Restaurant and Lounge. After you’ve stuffed your belly full of food, take in some of the unique shops or take a trip on the Myrtle Beach Skywheel and take a look at the beach and the city from 200 feet above sea level.

Award Winning RV Park

If you’re worried about where to park your RV, then have no fear. The Lakewood Camping Resort has you covered. Ocean front RV spaces, beach access, and close proximity to some of Myrtle Beach’s best restaurants are just a few of the amenities. But, that’s not all it has to offer! Within the campground, there’s a water park with a 525 foot lazy river (my personal favorite), 3 slides and a fun-filled interactive kids area. All of this plus WiFi, full hookups, 12 bath-houses, a laundry room and a trading post store are just the icing on the cake.

Next time you’re sitting down trying to figure out where you want to go for your next family vacation, consider Myrtle Beach. You’ll have a great time making memories and enjoying all that it has to offer!
