Happy winter, everyone! We at Hitch are excited that winter is finally here, and we’ve been enjoying the snow as we hope you have. Although the snow is wonderful, and cold weather can be fun, everyone likes being able to warm your insides with a great cup of hot chocolate.
As a winter camper, we have a great recipe that you can make right over your campfire. If you’re not a winter camper, you can still enjoy this comfort drink at home in your cozy blankets! In just 3 easy steps, you’ll be enjoying that delicious hot chocolate.
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups cocoa
- 3 cups organic cane sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1. Heat the Milk
This can be done over a grill or over the campfire on a grill grate. Make sure that the fire is low enough that it doesn’t burn or even boil the milk, just enough to steam it. It will look more creamy with a thin layer of foam over top.
2. Stir in the Ingredients
Add 2 tablespoons of the cocoa mix per 1 cup of milk. Slowly stir in spices, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. For additional hot chocolate flavor, one tablespoon of vanilla syrup flavoring will add a bit of a stronger taste.
3. Enjoy!
This hot chocolate is one of our favorite recipes, and super easy to make whether you’re camping in the woods on a winter’s night, or in the comfort of your own home. There’s something about sittingĀ in your heated RV on a chilly night, huddled together with hot chocolate in hand. Not only will it warm your insides, it’ll give your camper a delicious smell you’ll absolutely love.
Happy Winter Camping everyone, from your friends at Hitch RV!
